Miami Car Chase (1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass Painting) by FastLaneIllustration Miami Car Chase (1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass Painting) by FastLaneIllustration
Here's My latest painting. It's a 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass bobbing and weaving through traffic down Ocean Drive in Miami Beach circa 1976. I based this off of no movie in particular, but the piece itself was supposed to represent late 70s and early 80s car chase scenes in old actions films. This one is set in Miami, because this time period was a distinct era in Miami's history when it was teetering on its reputation as being a resort town, but also gaining a new reputation as the city with one of the largest crime rates in north america, which is why I felt this city that had a unique contrast would be ideal for this painting. The getaway is having a hard time shaking the cops, until one of the diligent pursuers collides with an oncoming vehicle. This is the diversion that the wheelman has been looking for. As the other cop is somewhat distracted by the mayhem that has just ensued, the getaway veers into Lummus Park hitting a whole bunch of plastic lawn flamingos in the process, hoping to find a new escape strategy. Does he get away, or does he get caught? you decide. Anyway, All Fast Lane Design Artwork by Ryan Sardachuk. Click the link to become a fan on facebook:

That's so old school I love it! I'm a huge fan of malaise-era, Big barge-like cars and heavy consumption during that era... Perfect art! The pastel colors bring Miami Vice vibes in mind.

This reminds me of GTA Vice City, I actually thought that was what you were trying to portray.

Well. I know this is coming in late but I just thought the exact same thing when I saw this.

Yes indeed. One thing that gave it that Vice City feel was the area. Another being the cop cars in the background. They look very much like the Vice City Police Cars.…

Definitely like Vice City. One of my favorite games of all time! Also, Florida only requires a rear license plate.
