Automotive Ancestry (1967 Pontiac Painting) by FastLaneIllustration Automotive Ancestry (1967 Pontiac Painting) by FastLaneIllustration
Here's my latest painting that I've created titled Automotive Ancestry. Basically, whats happening in the painting is an incredibly unlikely, but not entirely impossible scenario that I'd more than likely have a heart attack if I encountered it. But heres a bit of background context to the painting. On both sides of my family, the 1967 Pontiac Parisienne has been owned by at least one person on each side of my family (The Parisienne is a Canadian Pontiac for everyone who is unfamiliar with them). My mother owned a blue one (pictured on the left) which was her trusty and minorly quirky first car in the late 70s. My grandparents on my fathers side owned a greyish-white one (Pictured on the Right) that they got brand new in 1967. Both my parents have had some kind of connection to the car. My mother drove her blue one during her college years, and my father remembers car rides to kindergarten in my grandparent's Parisienne. Both of those cars are long gone from our family, but Recently, I purchased a red 1967 Pontiac Parisienne, (Pictured in the back), and both my parents felt a flood of memories come back when they sat inside of it. It was very similar to the ones that they both remembered from the past. The fate of the two Pontiac Parisiennes that my parents recollect is unknown. Both cars more than likely ended up in the dump like most cars do, but the slim possibility exists that both may still be around whether they are out driving or rotting in a yard somewhere. In this painting, I've illustrated the unlikely, but exciting scenario of me stumbling upon both of those "long lost" 1967 parisienne's rusting in peace together, and in the same yard to boot. Thats me in the painting "nerding out" about this rediscovery. Anyway, all Fast Lane Illustration artwork by Ryan Sardachuk. really awesome :D

I had no idea your family had the same car, that's pretty cool :) I love cars with a cool history like that.
