American Goth Chick (Humorous Painting Parody)

Here's my latest painting titled American Goth Chick.  I based it off of the world famous 1930 painting 'American Gothic' - by Grant Wood, which is without a doubt one of the most parodied paintings of all time.  Every artist should make an American Gothic parody at some point, so heres mine.  I kept the figures general face shapes the same but I made the daughter look like a stereotypical goth chick with tattoos, piercings, hair dye, and makeup aplenty.  The Father, who was originally a farmer holding a pitchfork in Grant Wood's painting has now been transformed into your typical bread winning suburban father figure holding his favorite coffee mug wondering where he went wrong.  As they awkwardly stand beside one another, both father and daughter are glancing away from each other mutually rolling their eyes and thinking to themselves that they'll never understand each other.  The house in the background maintains a similar color palette to the one in the original painting, but has instead been modernized into a home that oozes suburban life.  Anyway, All Fast Lane Illustration artwork by Ryan Sardachuk.  Click the link to join the official facebook page: www.facebook.com/FastLaneDesign, or visit the website at www.fastlaneillustration.com
