1970 Pontiac GTO Jury Car Chase Through Calgary by FastLaneIllustration 1970 Pontiac GTO Jury Car Chase Through Calgary by FastLaneIllustration
Here's my latest painting. It's a 1970 Pontiac LeMans GTO Jury being closely chased by a 1976 Pontiac Catalina police car down 9th Avenue of downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The year is 1977, and I took a lot of time and research to make sure that it's painstakingly accurate to how the real life corner of 9th avenue and 4th street looked in that time period. The 'Jury' package for the Pontiac Lemans like the one portrayed in this painting was a trim that was exclusive to Stampede Pontiac, a dealership here in Calgary. There are a few new experimentations in this piece as well. For example, this is the first piece that i've ever had a tire blow out in, as well as little effects like the muzzle flash on the policeman's gun as he fires out the window. If you're local to calgary, I think you'll really appreciate this piece... if not, I hope you enjoy it anyway. Here's A Link that provides a view of what this street corner looks like today: [link] . not exactly. the gto jury wasn't even offered in all of canada. it was only offered as an exclusive trim from a dealership here in calgary. it was a beefed up lemans offered as an affordable alternative to the expensive gto judge. it was a cheap thrills gto judge so to speak. the judge existed along side the jury, but the jury was launched just to make a few extra bucks at the dealership

I never knew about the Jury! I've always joked Plymouth should have done a The Jury version of the Fury and Mercury a Cougar Executioner. At least now I know a Jury exists!

does that friend happen to be someone named Kyle (aka Racer5353 here on deviantart?) He's the one who commissioned it. I know him personally. he lets me drive his family's 1970 mustang sometimes

Oh damn hahah I know him too! Not as well, just from a couple offhand chats here on dA, but I've seen the toys he's got, he's a lucky bastard, lol. Seems like Calgary is one hell of a place that I should check out some day
